Our attorneys offer extensive experience handling appellate matters in both the federal and state courts of appeal. Our team includes a former law clerk for the Fourth District Court of Appeal, the appellate court serving the entire 19th Circuit, who has knowledge of the appellate court system when representing clients on an appeal

Appellate law begins where most other litigation ends. There is no discovery, and the appellate record is limited to what was presented to the trial court. An appeal is presented to a multi-judge appellate panel and is decided almost entirely on the written briefs. The procedural and strategic issues on an appeal are very different than the issues involved in other types of litigation. Fox, Wackeen, Dungey appellate attorneys are available to assist in trial preparation and motion practice so that cases for our clients will have all issues preserved for appellate review, if needed.

We produce arguments and briefs that are not only meticulously researched, logically developed, and persuasively written, but also highly readable and engaging to busy appellate judges. We present complex questions of law and fact in simple and straightforward terms.

The firm's appellate cases cover a diverse range of subject matters, including commercial litigation, real estate litigation, employment and constitutional issues, and ad valorem taxation.
